Francisco Colasanto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1971. He is currently technical coordinator of the Mexican Centre for Music and Sonic Arts (CMMAS) located in the City of Morelia, México. (www.cmmas.org). He obtained his degree in electroacoustic composition from “Facultad de Ciencias Sociales” of the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes Mr. Colasanto worked as professor of music and technology at National School of Cinema (ENERC), Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas, LIPM (Centro Cultural Recoleta) and at the ORT Institute (Producer of electroacoustic arts). He has published the book: “MaxMSP: guía de programación para artistas” (http://www.maxmsptutorial.com) Prizes and distinctions: LIEM. Cultural Ministry of Spain (2000) Cultural Ministry of Spain (2006). Commission to make a piece for piano and electroacoustic process. Fundación Antorchas (Argentina, 2003). Juan Carlos Paz prize, given by Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina, 2004) His piece “Duo” was awarded and premiered at the Harvard University Studio for Electroacoustic Composition (Live Electronic Music Competition 2006). Giga-Hertz Award 2009 prize, given by ZKM institute, Karlsruhe, Germany.
