I'm having some problems using and possibly installing the following VBAP external: 

After downloading the .zip file, I extracted its contents and copied the second folder named 'vbap-1.1' to \Documents\Max 8\Library (I also unsuccessfully tried /Packages as well). I then tried to add an object named 'vbap' in a new patcher, and the object appeared as a suggestion whilst typing. Once I'd actually added it, however, the error 'Error 126 loading external vbap' was returned in the console.

Is there any way of obtaining the number of presets stored in a preset object as an integer?

I.e. Useful for when I have stored n presets out of a possible 256 then should I want a random stored preset I could recall random preset n but have a different random preset recalled each time.

I was thinking that a useful feature for a patch would be to save values (or alpha text) of interesting (things that look or sound good) settings so that

they can be read as a reference for later use.

Initially, I thought of a Comment object, but it looks like that can only change in edit mode. The comment object is cumbersome though, it can't be resized and there are no inputs. It isn't designed for what I'm trying to do.

My friend and I are debugging an issue regarding file paths. I'm a mac user and he is a windows user.

Whenever I call the create_audio_clip function on my end (passing in a local file path), I run into no issues. However, when my friend runs this same function he runs into an error. We are both inputting our file paths correctly when making the call (I use "/" while he uses "\\").

We ran into this changelog from a while back (

I'm unsure if this is relevant to our bug.

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to have a Max midi audio device that also can receive audio from an audio track in Ableton. So basically I can access both the midi data received on the midi track where the Max device is and the audio data coming from the other audio track. I am not interested in outputing anything from this device, no midi and no audio should come out from this device. I just need the midi and audio signals to control some Jitter visualizations.
