For most probably very easy, but  I don't get it: I would like to rotate the text in the JSUI object. The object itself is a slimmed down version of the one that is in the jsui-help patch. But no matter what I try with glrotate or related functions: I won't get it to work. Probably my own stupidity but I'd love to hear that from somebody else... ;-)

Hello! I'm looking for a multi-platform way to specify the path to the .app/.exe application when running the max patch for the FIRST time.

Now I use the system definition (Mac OS / Windows OS), then I specify the path according to the architecture of each OS and write them in the max path where they are located.

But this method seems a little complicated to me, I would like to have a universal method for every OS.

Perhaps I can use external ~Shell to silently view running processes (similar to the task manager on windows), if the application is running, I can get its path.

In my current patch, I made a LFO using the [phasor] object, and then I've translated its output into data using [snapshot]. Now, I'm aiming to establish the rate of data output (grain) at ~50ms. 

Initially, I considered using [line] for this purpose, but it seems to work only when generating a ramp.

Are there any other objects you'd recommend for achieving this goal, either within the audio processing part or after the [snapshot] operation?

So I found an app that is supposed to be a remote software for the Emu Emulator III sampler. I found this on the old EIII forums. The app was designed for Mac in late 2013 so I cannot open it with my current machine (still intel based, but running 2019 i9 machine with Ventura). 

However the person who made it mentioned he used Max as a basis. When I viewed the package contents, I saw that there is an .mxf file in there. I looked up how to convert .mxf to maxpat with a hex editor and successfully converted it. Now it opens and looks good, but I am getting an error of 

js: js: no function closedb [sqlite_DDV_EIII.js]"

I'm not sure what this means or if this max file is even enough to run the remote software. Anyone have an idea? I've attached the converted max file here. And a link to the actual old app is here:

I'm trying to create an automated file-name changer with the shell object.  It works with individual files but not with multiple files at the same time. Is there any reason why?

The process is very simple: A [dropfile] gives the path for a file, a bunch of regexp to prepend a number (with a [counter]) for the file. I made some text files TEST1.txt, TEST2.txt and TEST3.txt to try it in order and they should return 0-TEST1.txt, 1-TEST2.txt and so on...

That works completely fine when I'm trying individual files, but if I use [dropfile] to [folder] and [absolutepath] the content, for some reason doesn't work. It only changes the first file. In the above example, it would return 0-TEST1.txt but the other files remain the same. I printed the messages going to [shell] and they are all correct, I don't understand why it won't change the files

Any ideas? Is there a limitation in iterating messages to [shell]?

I'm attaching the patch I used for my texts. Excuse me if the renaming process isn't very clean, but it should work

I installed the Bach Package and when I hit the 'B' button, it goes out a bach. object instead of bang. Since I'm not using this package yet, I've uninstalled it and restarted the Max. But the problem is still there. Funny thing is sometimes when I press the keyboard B, bang comes out; sometimes a bach.... object comes out. How can I fix this?
