I have a new project that relies on multiple audio stream sources via a VPS server. The pipeline for each stream is as follows: Icecast > audio/ogg > Opus > 48 kHz stereo // in other words: RPI > Icecast Opus > ffmpeg > PCM.

For now, I only have a single audio stream module that works perfectly, and I’d like to test multiple sources using the working URL I have.

Next, I want Max to connect to the server to process each audio stream through different inputs, but I can’t find a solution. I’ve tried LoopBack and BlackHole, but I can’t differentiate between the streams—they’re all mixed together. Do you know of a way to do this?

With M4L it's possible to trigger "session record".

->it will record clips on all armed tracks if the slot is empty

  and if a slot is not empty, the alredy playing clip that it containes will be overdubbed.

I am looking for a way to do the same but not for all armed tracks but just the ones I choose.

It's easy with the "fire" function but it will record in empty clips and

with already playing clips the function will just play the clips and not overdub them

with M4L how to overdub in a playing clip without using the 'session record" function as I want to exclude some armed tracks from the process...

I am sending a pic through fpic to a jit.gl.videoplane and trying to control the pic position in the jit.world. There is no problem when I change the x and y axis, but z axis have no effect at all. It seems very straightforward, but it doesn´t do anything. Maybe someone can help me to understand what is going on?

When I export my patch, my MIDI device controls it without a problem. When I power off the Raspberry Pi and on again, it doesn't receive MIDI anymore. I try to unplug-plug back the controller to the Raspberry PI but there is no action. 

Auto connect midi option is on. And the controller works fine. 

I'd appreciate it if you could give me a hand.

I know it gets brought up every once in a while, but I thought I'd post again to see what the interest was out there for getting Max working in Linux.

I jump between Mac, Winows, and Linux (Ubunutu) fairly regularly as no single OS can do everything I need under one roof. I teach at a university in physics and recording arts where I use Max, Wavelab, Nuendo, and Live extensively for demonstrations and PowerPoint/Keynote for presenting. I also run a recording/mastering/post studio where I again use Nuendo & Wavelab. But I also run an acoustic R&D company where I use Solidworks, QCAD, and a few other drawing/modeling tools. And lastly I head up an interdisciplinary research collective that mostly uses Max, but also vvvv, Processing, TouchDesigner, Quartz Composer, etc.

But I'm finding that I prefer Linux above Windows and Mac more and more for the sheer speed, customization, and adaptability even though it's by far the least supported for applications which really bums me out. While I'm a big supporter of open source I'm also happy to pay for good commercial software like Max. i just wish Max, and a few others, would run on Linux.

Max is one of the biggest hangups for me to not spend almost all of my time in Linux. PD is a great program, no doubt, but I rely on a lot of the awesome and amazing externals out there and the great Max community (along with a number of other reasons). Even getting Max to run under Wine would be OK, though native support would be much more preferable. But the iLok stuff only works on Mac/Win, even though I use the software key/internet activation.

So I'm interested if there's any other folks out there in the same boat as myself. I know Linux support is a low priority for most commercial companies that are trying squash bugs and be innovative, but I feel like Ubuntu and other flavors are on the rise and have some very cool potential in the multimedia realm (but that could also be just because I've been getting more into it personally). If there's enough of us requesting maybe we could see a Linux release in the future! Anyone else interested in seeing this happen?

I have a jitter patch with webcam input and output to two windows. Inside the patch i want to switch the visibility of two jit.gl.videoplanes through the @layer attribute. 

In my first window "windowLeft" it works fine, but at the second window "windowRight" switching between the videoplanes does not work. Maybe i am missing an some attribute?

There seem to be a lot of complicated rename track tools out there.

I am trying to make a device that simply lets you type in a box and click a button and the track that is loaded on will be renamed to whatever text you typed in the box

I don't need to append a sequence name or anything
