2 audio channels from PD through sound flower to Max 6

January 7, 2013 | 7:00 pm

Hey I’m doing a project:
I have 2 different audio channels (right and left) from pure data. I’m sending them with sound flower (2ch) to Max 6. In Max I need to have the same 2 different channels (and not a single channel with all the audio mixed up in). Does anyone know I can do it? I was thinking about using 2 different outlets, one per channel, or something like that…
Thanks for your help

Select the input in audio status window.
You then just need to specify how many inputs you want in adc~

I still have problems with this..this is my patch, but all the channels are displayed in the first one (left outlet). I can change the position of the channels (so ch. 1 should be displayed in the right outlet) but still they are all together. I’ve already checked the audio window…

It seems to me more a problem in the Pd output, because I tested your patch getting input from soundflower and I correctly hear the 2 separated channels…

ok I’ve tried to send sounds from my sound card to soundflower 64ch and then Max but this time I have three channels input and two output (my laptop). Now I can’t see anything on Max.. :/

I’m also trying sound flower 2ch – max with two inputs…still not working..I’ve checked the audio settings of my laptop everything seems ok..this is driving me mad…

Ok, here’s a screenshot of my setup. Do you notice something different from yours?

instead of soundflower i’m now using jack, and everything is working well…!

so jack is crashing every 2 minutes so I'm back with sound flower still have the same problem: I can't have two different audio outputs (from ch 1 to output 1 and from ch. 2 to output 2). the channels carry different sounds that's why I need them to be separated.
Here is my setup i'm probably missing something…

Any difference using CoreAudio driver instead of portaudio?

And… are you sure your PD patch’s output is correct?
