2 x ASCii keyboards

hello :)

I would like to control a max patch with a ascii keyboard and at the same time have the OS default ascii keyboard control my sequencer as normal.

I wonder if there is a module that can recognise an individual pc keyboard on a separate usb port and convert the keys to bangs or messages, like the (key) module does?

try ‘hi’ and target the object with a ‘USB Compliant Keyboard’ message, or generate a menu from ‘hi’ and see if it’s recognised.

If you happen to be a MAC user, I have heard that the ASCII coding for all the letters and numbers is different for combinations of capslock and command.

A friend was suggestion for one of my projects to simply tape down command, or use caps locl, and that way a USB keyboard will have different mapping potential.

Not sure if it helps, but just an idea :)

I like the taping down of the function key idea, lol : P
