Support to the application folder, , so that isn’t an issue. But are
there any other things that could cause any trouble, like the
MaxAPI.framework or the MaxAudioAPI.framework for example?

As you can see below it was impossible for me to have both versions working together although the 4.6. ReadMe-file says that both versions can exist parallel.

Hello,
Sounds like you have some version incompatibility issues. The best way to combat this is a clean install of MaxMSP.

To clean out MaxMSP 4.6.x entirely, remove these items:
~/Library/Preferences/Max 4.6 Preferences
../Library/Frameworks/MaxAPI.framework
../Library/Frameworks/MaxAudioAPI.framework
../Library/Frameworks/MaxJSRef.framework
../Library/Frameworks/JitterAPI.framework
../Library/CFMSupport/MaxCFMAdaptor and MaxAudioCFMAdaptor
/Applications/MaxMSP 4.6

To do a complete uninstall of MaxMSP 4.5:
../Applications/MaxMSP 4.5
../Library/Application Support/Cycling ’74
../Library/CFMSupport/JSRef.shlb
../Library/CFMSupport/JSRefThreadsafe.shlb
../Library/CFMSupport/MaxAudioPlugLibCarbon.shlb
../Library/CFMSupport/MaxPlugLibCarbon.shlb
~/Library/Preferences/Max 4 Preferences Folder
~/Library/Preferences/MSP Preferences

Once you’ve deleted all of that, reinstall MaxMSP using the most recent installer.

Hi,

I’ve just installed MaxMsp 4.6.2,
when I try to open an old patch I get the error message:

error:can’t fragload adc~(missing
sys_getch>), err -2807

When I replace the adc-object with a new one and try to save the
patch Max crashes.
The whole Audio seems not to work, is this a known problem or am I
the only one?

I’am using Mac OS 4.7 on a PPC G 4 Alu Powerbook and an RME Fireface
400 Soundcard , With MaxMsp 4.5.7 everything works fine…

Indeedy – I had problems with MaxAudioAPI.framework and had to move
it out of the way. (Having done that, 4.5 still launches happily, so
I’m not sure I understand what the framework is for.)

I still have some problems with objects in 4.6 – “standalone” doesn’t
work for me at all.

(This is all on a 1GHz TiBook, although I’m in very real danger of
buying a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro very shortly.)
