a decent OpenGL Shader IDE for os x anyone?

hello,
i was looking around for integrated development environments for writing shaders in glsl. i found a few through sourceforge but don’t see any compiled for os x.

there is apple’s “OpenGL Shader Builder” in “/Developer/Applications/Graphics Tools/”, part of the developer tools, but mine at least (the latest) is quite unstable; crashes with very little effort.

does anyone use a 3rd party development environment for os x for workin on shaders?

thanks,
a

AFAIK, Jitter is your best bet until Apple releases a new Shader
Builder like app which will allegedly happen with OS 10.5.

Check out the jitter-examples/render/shaderwriter-example.pat
example. mxj quickie with a shader file will let you edit with GLSL
syntax highlighting and whenever you save reload he shader. Look in
the Max window for errors.

This patch is designed for slab based shaders, but you can easily
modify it to be using jit.gl.shader as applied to arbitrary geometry.
