Can someone please PLEASE help me figure out the workflow for creating a theremin in Max Msp????

I want to be able to control the pitch and volume of the theremin with a wacom bamboo tablet, I also want to be able to link Max/Msp to a Vst synth in Logic Pro to achieve the right sound. Can anyone PLEASE tell me the workflow process I would need to go through to create this?? What links to what ect??

I am very lost with it, a total beginner with MAX, so any help would be very much appreciated.

Please help out a woman on the verge of a technological melt down xx

Okay, kidding aside, now for some helpful advice. To determine the best plan of action,
there are some questions…

1. For getting data from the wacom in to Max, you might want to use a wacom external.
Are you on Win or OSX? A mac wacom external can be found at CNMAT’s site:

http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/downloads

2. Are you looking to create the sound in a VST? Max is capable of loading VSTs, so you
really don’t need Logic, unless you will be using the sequencer.

I would suggest two options:
Option 1: If you will be creating the sound in Max, you would accept Wacom data, map that
data to MIDI controls, load your VST with vst~ and send your MIDI controls to it.

Option 2:. If you want to create all the sound in Logic, then the Max patch is relatively simple, it
would accept Wacom data, map it to MIDI controls, and send that data to a virtual MIDI port.
Logic would pick it up and you can use it how you want in Logic.

I was hoping to use a specific Synth VST within logic to create the sound and somehow rout that into MAX to allow me to control the Pitch, volume and vibrato. When writing out in a simple flowchart would the pattern go as follows:

WACOM BAMBOO – (into) MAX/MSP pitch/volume/vibrato – (into) Logic?

I have been trying to suss it for many hours now so my rationality is very low.. Honestly, on a normal day when not faced with MAX I am not so stupid :]
