Since i make all my tracks in logic im using mainstage as an external midi instrument in Ableton.

Im sending the midi out of ableton via the IAC bus and the audio back in via SoundFlower.

Im getting a noticeable amount of latency... especially problematic for when im playing drums or transient samples which need to be triggered exactly in time.

Is there a better way of doing this that will give me better results?

Im on a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 (dual core) with 4GB or 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, running 10.8.4 and with the latest versions of ableton and mainstage.

Try Jack instead of SoundFlower. It allows to set the audio buffer size, ie. small for low latency.

Ableton/Mainstage/Soundflower latency issues. Advice needed.
