Hello, sorry if this is a stupid question, it's just that I've been trying all night and have not managed to find an answer anywhere.

I have a large grid of hexagons, and each one has 6 inlets/outlets and has to be able to communicate with its six neighbours. I've made an abstraction, but to connect them all together using wired connections is going to be ugly and very time consuming. I've found that you can use #1 (for example) on the send receive object but that's still not really good enough - I'm going to need to do a calculation within each abstraction and use that for the name of the send/receive object. Is this at all possible, or am I attempting something which is not doable?

but when I look at a live abstraction the send object reads:

If you want to use more than one argument in a name, you need to use sprintf to format it. You'll also need to use the forward object instead of the send object so that you can set the destination with the output of sprintf. For example:

Thanks for your help fellas, so for the receive side I should be doing the same thing but with receive objects? Like this:

Oops, sussed it - should have been using 'set' rather than 'receive' message. Need to check my Max error window more often!

Yeah, [send] is the only one that's weird like that, since you can't change its destination with "set."
