abstractions

hi all,

here’s a strange situation :

i made a patch called “TRuC”, i’m now able to load it as an abstraction. I have many possibilities :

Truc
truc
tRuc
…etc, all of them will work.

but when i edit the original one and save it, only the “TRuC” abstraction is updated, others, which don’t exactly match the name case, are not.
is this normal?

It sounds normal if you’re on a OS with a case sensitive file system,
like OS X.

ok but if my filesystem is case sensitive, why am i able to load abstractions with different case from the original filename??

Presumably because when Max searches the file path it does it case
insensitively.

Actually in its normal install, the OS X is case preserving, but case INsensitive. This means that it remembers wHaTeVeR case you name things, but doesn’t care about it. It will match WhatEver.
