I'm about to release an app that will be used on many different machines and so I would like to log any errors in the Max window to a file that can be submitted back to me for head scratching. Unfortunately the [error] object misses errors that occur when you first load the app - (missing files, wrong Java versions, etc) the very errors that I need to know about!

Having trawled the archives it seems there's no obvious way of capturing errors after they've been posted to the Max window, but I'm just wondering if there's a way of accessing the Max Window from C? I've searched the Max5 SDK Documentation but haven't found anything... Or if anyone has any other ideas?

and then Max will mirror all posts and errors to the Max window to the system console. If you send the message to Max by putting this in an init file (in the C74 folder's init folder) then it will be sent to Max very early in the startup cycle.

Thanks for the tip, I think this relates to OSX only though? I've been searching through the SDK for more information but it doesn't even mention "setmirrortoconsole".
