advice on video capture solution

February 20, 2006 | 4:53 pm

I need to get 3 video streams into jitter, simultaneously. I’m on a Mac G5, PCI. Firewire webcams won’t work due to long cable runs, so I’m looking for a firewire or PCI solution. The solution does not need to offer great resolution or quality.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

This topic has been addressed on the forum before, but not recently (the technology, of course, changes rapidly).

Thank you,
B. Dean

Johnny,
Have you actually used 2 of these cards in one G5?
Thanks,

If you don’t need great resolution or quality, i would strongly suggest
you a quad processor (4 video input, 1 video output). Then you can
digitize and cut the incoming video stream into 4 uniform rectangular
regions (for example using jit.scissors)
