Hello all!
Sorry but my english is bad.

I want made the Step Sequencer for my APC40 in Max/msp 5

But the fact is that I recently started studying MAX and I can not even make the algorithm of action, follow the steps which, I gradually come to the end. Could you help me?

At the moment I managed to get from APC40 MIDI data (patch – http://www.sendspace.com/file/7sect4), it was not very difficult. Smile
But then I do not even know where to start. Not even imagine how to make APC40 even blink LED)

I tried to describe the approximate algorithm is about an hour, but terribly confused)))
Help please as you can. Thank in advance all!

Ok. I looked into this question a bit (just a couple of weeks) and that’s what I get

But this work only for button 53:1 )))

how do this work for other buttons)?
It’s possible to go mad during repeating this method 40 times %)

I don’t know the answer to your question kr0 but you might like to know that you can use "Copy Compressed" under the Edit menu to Copy your patches into the message board instead of attaching them or uploading them. You can use File>New From Clipboard to open the copied patch.

Like this:

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

Sorry I didn’t answer your question!

it only works for 53 because the select object says 53.
( underneath the stripnote object )
it only lets the bang through if the incoming note number equals 53..

add [select 53 54 55 56] and so on.. it will work for those notes too…

i made a step sequencer for my launch pad.. and yes it is possible to go mad…

this might get you started

if you could tell me the notes the pads are sending i can help you

something makes me think that this is the part he already knows.

Yes you’re right, I know this )))

The problem is that if i push the button on the controller, it’s only blink.
if i click the toggle in MAX – button shines as it necessary. Why? I do not understand. (

your patch works fine for my launchpad…
do you really have to use these x and y position msgs?

you already told him one way it can work fine (cycle and select).

another way would be making an abstraction maybe:

use [select #1] instead of [select 53], then save your above
patch onto disk and recall it by name, [mypatch 53], [mypatch 54] …

for a 16 steps thing it will be fine. for a 100 step thing
one might prefer the [cycle] method or something third …

yes

"Using the midiin/midiout objects:
The top left button on the 5×8 clip control grid is 144 53 1, where 144-151 is the entire top horizontal row, 53-57 is the vertical row going down (the next row down in this case is 54), and 1 is the velocity. The bottom Clip Stop row is 52.

The Velocities are as follows
1 – Green
2 – Green Flashing
3 – Red
4 – Red Flashing
5 – Orange
6 – Orange Flashing

7-127 Are all green."

Very strange that you are working and I do not ))

Thanks. I see this earlier

(apparently LED interaction is velocity specific?)

The buttons sends only 0 and 127 velocity. This can be seen if connect "number" to the velocity out on "notein". If I press button once she send 2 comands – note on & note off…See the image

How strange, is not it? I think when pressed once be transferred to the message note on (velocity 127) when pressed again – note off (velovity 0) but they are transmitted together.

I don’t understand why, and how to freeze velocity until the button preess again…(And yet it is very difficult to explain in English Smile)

use the stripnote object and you will get only ONE bang, each time you press a pad…
connect the stripnote onj with a toggle.. and it will be turned on on first press.. turned of on second press..

but what i wanted to say actually was…
if its all about "i want to build my own patch" then go ahead..
but if you just want to have stepsequencer..
then look for the APC40 Monome Emulator… with this thing you can use any patch a monome does.. and of course… they got a good step sequencer…

Ok guys. I did this! )
I know, this method is silly, but it works and I do not know how to do otherwise ))

Now I’m one step closer )

In attached file ableton project.
Run it, check midi out to max/msp 2 and click play clip button.
