alpha channel issue on windows XP

alpha channel issue on windows XP

If I read a psd file with alphachannel into the gl.videoplane-multi example (and then add @blend_enable 1 to the videoplane), then the alpha channel works just fine… on my Macbook Pro.

However, if I try the same thing with the same file on a Windows XP machine with ATI Radeon X600, then the alpha channel seems to be ignored. But, if I look at the output of the jit.qt.movie object through jit.unpack on that same machine, the alpha channel seems to be intact.

Do alpha channels get ignored on GPU on Windows?

No. The patch should work the same. Sounds like there might be
something with textures and alpha channels going on. Are you able to
get any kind of alpha working with a simple videoplane patch?

does it have to be a psd file? try png. or post a patch

Ah. Good idea, thanks, the png file works in the example file where the psd did not… But it doesn’t work in my patch. My patch is huge, so I’ll have to work on stripping it down to the relevant pieces tomorrow. I’ll post again then if I can’t work it out.
