Always on top

Hi all,

I’ve happily been integrating both ascii-initiated events and wacom tablet control in my patch, which runs alongside Ableton Live on a windows xp machine.

Is there *any* way of setting either a maxMSP/Jitter patch or likewise standalone as Always On Top, so that I can keep using ascii and Wacom inputs within max, even when clicking back and forth between the apps?

Perhaps at the OS-level?

Thanks,
/Andreas

Not quite what you’re asking for, but ice.key will (if you ask it)
give you keystrokes even when the app is in the background.

Just an idea.

This might help:

http://www.eusing.com/WindowManager/WindowManager.htm

“… Auto Window Manager adds several menu items to standard window menu accessible via application icon in the title bar.The commands are:Minimize to system tray, always keep window on top, Set window transparency, align window, resize window.”

and it’s free.

Brian, thanks for the link! This might just do the trick for the ascii keyboard.

I found that if I set up a metro to bang [setfront 1]s to the wacom object I can keep it under Max control, but it’s not all that elegant :)
