amplify electric guitar in max

hi, i need to amplify an electric guitar thru max, im no msp user,
does someone got few advices for getting "a better sound" out of an
electric guitar then [~adc] > [~*] > [~dac]

Hi,
Besides using an amp sim plug in (there are many free good ones for windows BTW and the free MDA amp sim is ok in a pinch for mac) you should make sure that you are matching your audio input with the right signal impedance. Not all audio interfaces are guitar friendly (even if they’re marketed as being so) and if you’re going into a line input you will be getting a weak mismatched signal.

the problem is not IN maxmsp where you can do whatever you wish (or
almost) but before – having the right gain

the best (and cheapest) solution I found is using the very cheap
PB100 pedal/preamp from Berhinger – just great, costs less than 20
euros (closer to 15)

much better than a lot of sansamp, boss, art etc etc etc
