Is there any way to route the sound from MIDI function and noteout object back to MSP ?

I would like to make use of the built-in GM sound bank and route its output back to MSP so that I can add some audio effects to it. Is there any object that can do this ?

Thanks.

Here is one way using SoundFlower.

1) Load SoundFlower and SoundFlowerBed (from Cycling ’74 website).

2) Set SoundFlower_16Ch as your Input and Output audio device in the OSX System Preferences>Sound

3) In Max DSP Status (under the Options Menu) set the Driver to SoundFlower 16 ch and the Input device to SoundFlower 16 ch.

4) in the Soundflower bed menu place a check box by the Built-in Audio just under the Soundflower (16ch).

Below is a little MIDI instrument playing through the AU DLS Synth.

Hope this is clear,
