I was wondering if anyone had any experiences using a USB IR device with max to control DVD players or other such devices. I am interested in this in general but specifically because; I am working on two stage shows and have been working with the colorgraphic Xentera card. I have had some luck with it but am experiencing performaces issues with the machine at hand (2.4Ghz P4 with Xentera 2x64MB card).

So I am faced with posibly having to "go old school" and do this show from a stack of DVD players. Everything works fine with taking fullscreen with 3 jit.window. The issue is that the fps drops so low that fades between still images look choppy and video looks so bad. Have a new machine on order (dual core) with the better colorgraphics xentera card (128MB version) and I hope that this will solve the issue. Still I am interested in the use of Max for controling devices through IR though.

Has anyone had any experiences with IR or a multi-screen card? Can you recomend a particular USB to IR device?

Anyone have any luck with USB IR control? or with multi-monitor video cards?
