Perceived bug: When I switch the time signature of the transport from 7/8 to 4/4 while on beat 5, 6, or 7, instead of going back to beat 1, the 4/4 beat counts from 3 less than the beat I was on. For example, if I switch while on beat 6, it starts counting the 4/4 bar using beat numbers 3,4,5,&6, which does not strike me as correct.

To replicate: Open the patch below. Click on the toggle to start the transport. It looks like it's working fine in 4/4. Click the 'timesig 7 8' message to switch to 7/8. It still looks like it's working fine. Now click on the 'timesig 4 4' message at a moment when the transport is on beat 5, 6, or 7 of the 7/8 bar. In my experience, it now counts the 4/4 time using numbers that start at 3 less than whatever beat it was on when the switch was made.

I know the help file still says the timesig message only works when at time 0, but that was changed as of version 5.1, right? It seems to work as it should except for this one bug. Tested on MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8. Not tested in Max for Live.

Hello,what is the best way to change the time signature of transport? I really can't make this work as I'm triggering time signature changes with a foot pedal in the middle of a bar. Exactly like Christopher's example.

How about storing the timesig message and trigger at start of the next bar?

Bug seems to be alive and well in Max 7.3.5.

I use the 0 at right inlet when transport has turned off and 0 0 0 or 1 1 0 after transport is turned on. These seem to be the rules not so clearly explained in the help file. Both of these work to reset to measure 1, beat 1. The very first timesig message, no matter what it is, screws up the transport. After that, it doesn't even respond correctly to repositioning messages like 4 1 0 (go to beat 1 of measure 4).

Andrew put it in the pile for Max 6. Looks like it is still in the pile. Time to dig? :-)

Broc's solution for syncing time signature changes is right on and does work fine. I copied the zl reg part into my patch and trigger it on beat 1.

What doesn't work and what I need is reliable "rewind to the beginning."
