AppleScript en MaxMSP

January 22, 2006 | 1:09 am

Hello! Does anyone know if it’s possible to control AppleScript from
within MaxMSP? For example, to start AppleScripts based on specific
values calculated within MaxMSP. Otherwise some OSC layer in between
iTunes and something else.

Hi Weyert,

you can send messages to applescript with the shell object.

for example, a message like this :

osascript -e ‘tell application "Finder" to open’

to the bill orcutt’s shell object will start itunes.
I will post a more documented message to the list with more examples
and a patch.
Hope this help.

You can also use Tim Place’s tap.applescript
-> http://www.electrotap.com/taptools

It is always a good idea to query http://www.maxobjects.com for such questions.

A very powerful alternative to AppleScript is Appscript:
