Does the arduino NEED sketch code – FIRMATA loaded to the board for the arduino to talk with max using the ‘serial object’ or can it be any coding?
I did it the following way, that I uploaded the standard-firmata, after that I downloaded the maxuino-package (http://digitalcoleman.blogspot.com/) and then used the arduino_test.maxpat to build my own interface.
the arduino.maxpat, which is also part of this package is the core for the connection between max and arduino (and already used in the arduino_test.maxpat). and if you take a look on it you see, that it is based on the serial object.
ok, glad to hear you say that – I now know I am on the correct track. struggling getting the fsr to be a toggle on off switch.
I have code for the arduino board LED to go on off, but not the toggle in max :(
