Hi would like to control the terminal application mk_patt from

The shell object just opens a new terminal window, but would it be poassible to deal with mk_patt in the shell object itself and not a new terminal window wich doesn't let me to interact and to automate stuffs.

Hi, the only issue I can see is that the program mk_patt is interactive, so it waits for your prompts...

If you wanted to try and make the process interactive from within Max, I think it'd be easier to make a C external with mk_patt.c than it would be to try and make the shell work.

I can't even make it launch, it chokes on the prompt for the camera_param filename...

Unfortunately, I've never made my own extrernals… Would you have some start tips ? Thx you.

I just took a look at it... i'm not sure i have a lot of time between now and the weekend, but I might be able to hack something together at some point.

As far as starting tips? When I first started building the ARToolkit one I had a whack of problems linking to the frameworks so the project files i'm using are a little... special.

If you can write in C, you basically just duplicate an existing mac project (i used jit.3m) and then change all occurances of "3m" to your external name such as, "armarkers". Add your headers, you then can start gutting the external of it's own functions and replacing them with your own calls.

Like I said, I might be able to wrangle something at some point but timeline is a little iffy.
