I have problems with my saffire pro 24 and any polyphonic synth patch I use. When the CPU usage goes above 70% there is hideous crackling and popping. General popping occurs during low CPU usage as well where any popping etc doesn't occur using the ad_directsound drivers. The firmware/software for my audio device (which is firewire) are all up to date too. the device works best on 512 512 vector sizes.

I checked the same patch on Max 5 and the popping occurs to a lesser extent than in Max 6. In Max 6 the audio goes mental when the usage is over 68-70%. In Max 5 the direct sound drivers cause no audio problems.
