I noticed that the audio routing using soundflower for "only" audio analysis purpose outside of live (inside VDMX for instance) is cpu intensive. It "seems" to be more cpu intensive than using some envelope followers + OSC popping out from M4L device in Live into VDMX for instance.

Any serious arguments to use one over the other for only better performance purpose ?
