Audio effects patches
I’m trying to find a few nice delay/reverb/interesting sound morphing patches that I can link into one of my own patches. I am using an integer stream being controlled by a Light Dependent Resistor (running through an Arduino) to control how much of the audio signal from a buffer gets sent to an effect. The problem is I don’t know where to find some nice effects, I’ve looked at soundhack, but have no results as yet.
Here is a summary of my project if anyone is interested.
Hope the monome is treating you well. Let me know if you ever consider selling it :). Like the look of your third year project, Wabi-Sabi, tea, arduino boards and contact mics seems like a very good combination.
As for effects, I’ve got a big effects patch with a matrix for routing somewhere around my hard-drive. I’ll have a look and see if I can host it somewhere for you to download
For the minute though have a look at the Monome DJ64 patch:
I’m just deconstructing it to get the effects section out and port it to Max4Live as just an FX app. It’s got a delay in there and a few other goodies. Check out something like Freeverb for reverbs, and I’d always advise having a look at Munger, if you haven’t already.
Oh and the Percolate and Cnmat bundles have some pretty good stuff in them, can’t remember how many of the patches were effects, but good to have anyway.
Thanks, that would be great!
Just having a look at these things now. If they are not max patches, i.e. vst efects etc, is it easy to send audio to the from max and back again?
I really just need a nice delay, a reverb and something a little crazy too. I’ll check those things out now.
You could use vst~ to control the plugins, it’s really great… if they are Audio Units, there’s a beta version of au~ in the "Edge" forum. Haven’t tried it myself. The vst~ object works wonders, though it takes a bit to set up, especially if it’s for a general-purpose VST where you don’t know all the parameters, etc. But for a dedicated one it would be pretty easy to get working.
I use the Cakewalk Studio Instruments via Max and they are awesome, especially the drum set. $30!
the only "problem" is that their interfaces are so nice, they make my patches look like chopped liver… :)
