Hello. I am making a very simple patch where id like to play a video that has sound, and id like the sound from that video to be displayed as a waveform as well as a video. This is for the band i play in. We have video files to project that are also the backing tracks for the songs, and my drummer needs to see the waveform of the song as well as the video, in a linear fashion.

I've made a simple patch that explains the layout, the playbar lines up nicely with where i'd like the entire waveform to be. I haven't had much like searching for any ideas.

you're going to have to load the file into buffer~ using the import message.

you can sync the video to the sound using the sync-out of groove~, something like:

groove~ --> snapshot~ --> * movie-duration --> time $1, bang --> jit.qt.movie

make sure you don't "start" the qt.movie.

if buffer~ won't load the file, simply re-export the audio as wav or aif.
