I'm coming across an odd problem, on the Mac OS version of Max 5.1.2

When I've compiled an app, the audio runs perfectly fine.

However, when I go to make a collective, I do not get an audio out. When I select the "; dsp status" object, there is no choice for the audio card.

And, yes, I have included the "standalone" object, as well as the "dsp status" abstraction.

Curiously, this seemed to work with no problem before - on the same piece!! I had to return to this project to make some revisions, and now I'm stuck.

I need to create a version of my patch that runs on both the Mac and Windows - is there a better solution?
