i made a median~ object some years ago. never really used it for anything, though.
so, can’t guarantee that it works as expected.

let me know if you want to try it out.

no median~ filter in zsa.descriptors~. It isn’t hard to do, time is just missing.

Hi Roald,

if I may ask, what are you using median filtering for ?
I am asking because in my experience I found audio rate median filtering only useful in very few situations.
Mostly to affect audio rate signals used as very accurate control signals (i.e. you don’t listen to them…)

Maybe your scenario is like the above, or maybe you are using it in a new/creative way that I haven’t thought of… I’d be interested to know… thanks.

It seems to be an interesting way to transform sound. I’m just curious, I guess it will distort the sound more than filter as most "audio" filters do, but I suppose it’ll be a sound of its own. Actually I tried to build a patch to create something equivalent. I am not sure it does what the filter would do but here is what I got as a result. It’s a 3-samples version. Imagine the mess it would be with 5 samples or more…

I couldn’t find any way to send PM here but I found your e-mail. Please look in your mailbox.

Best regards,

Roald
