hey,
one of my BIGGEST annoyances with max – 4 and 5 – is that comments can’t
auto-fix-width… that’s an exceptionally troublesome ommision, since
comments usually go in and around other objects in my patches, so they
and their associated boxes should be as small as possible..

any chance of this changing in the near future? OR, is there a fix we
can do for this? I do believe I’ve tried everything, hehe.
Andreas.

hey,
one of my BIGGEST annoyances with max – 4 and 5 – is that comments can’t auto-fix-width…
–>

If your auto-fix-width is off, which is generally how I patch, you can auto-fix-width individually when you complete your editing of the comment (and other objects too, like messages). Just hold alt (Windows) or Option (Mac) when you click outside the comment box and it’ll auto-fix-width to the size specified in Fixed Width Ratio, in Preferences.

I use about 1.1 for the Fixed Width Ratio so that fonts don’t get screwy (wrap) across platforms, this was an issue in 4 but may be OK in 5, haven’t tested it. Having just a bit of extra space there can be helpful anyways.
