is there a way i can check for updates automatically, from within max itself? or to be notified when updates are available?

That said, if you want to do it right now, I guess you could make a patch, placed in Max startup folder, which would compare installed version and version on the current mac/pc version site’s page.

I’d still prefer an automatic check preference, though.
