best jit.qt.grab settings for capturing hd

May 6, 2010 | 4:18 pm

hello,
we bought a black magic intensity pro card for capturing component video from a hdv camera. we get 1080i video input. Capturing works fine in general, but I´m confused by the settings.

Do somebody have experience about how to acchieve best quality in capturing video? I especially interested in the best codec and also the format (width/height) of the video. Do I need 1980 x 1440 or what is the "native" resolution of 1080i

We use the captured video for keying afterwards.

Many thx, florian

Hi florian,

Capture in a high quality codec like jpeg and then export with jit.qt.movie if needed.

look here for hd formats:

cheers

hello jirko!

what do you mean with "export to jit.qt.movie"?

at the moment i try to record with jit.qt.record, but the quality and framerate are very low.
i also tried to capture directly via jit.qt.grab which works fine but with delay…

as described here:

so jit.qt.movie could be the last option for me :)
many thx,
florian
