Hi all,

I’m looking for the best USB based video capture device for jitter on windows. I have experience with Hauppague products but wonder of others have successfully used Dazzle or Pinnacle products. I prefer USB/USB2 devices over firewire for compatibility reasons.

thanks,

Hi,

I’ve used pinnacle hardware, being the previous versioin of
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+TV/Dazzle+to+go.htm
, but that’s actually the same as this Dazzle:
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+DVD+Recorder.htm
, … without the built in tv – tuner.
This worked just fine for me no problems at all. Except that i had to
switch the device from *tv tuner* mode to *analog video input* – mode,
which could apparently only be done by installing the software that
packaged with it …
drivers…>
another device i ended up using, is something they’re selling in my home
country *belgium* at *fnac* stores, it concerns this product:
http://www.topachat.com/pages/detail2_cat_est_micro_puis_rubrique_est_w_acq_puis_ref_est_inf355.html
.
This is basically just AV >> USB and also works just as well, if it is
only used for that purpose. Only problem is that i don’t think they’re
selling this worldwide…
The reason i’m posting this is, while using these two devices together
< *running win xp*> i stumbled upon repeated *blue screens*… i puzzled
this out and came to the conclusion that both devices needed to use
different versions of the same *audio and video stream through USB* driver.
…….
so my point is this

if u’re running win xp, and want to import video through usb multiple
times, use one type of device. that could save you quite some trouble.

Hey guys,

Rich here from Belfast, wanted to do a quick survey on which projector I
should buy!

Need a low to mid range projector, will hire big ones for individual gigs
but need something that will do for VJ and presentation work!

What are your expert opinions??

All the best

Rich
