I am trying to get bi-directional volume control within Ableton Live and Max for live.

My patch does update sliders in MAX when I move them in Live, and when I move the sliders in MAX (from my iPad/lemur) the sliders do move in Live, but they move rather uncontrollably.

It is is like there is a tremendous amount of latency or some other problem.

Instead of using live.object try using live.remote~ instead. That was made for more realtime'ish control of the live parameters.
