Hi all - I created a little patch, would love to hear if there is a smarter way of doing this.

The idea is that if you have 2 parameters that can vary at the same time, parameter 2 values are only passed on when parameter 1 is not changing.

I imagine there are a number of application for it: mine is for remote control purposes: while I control a parameter from my Ipad, I don't want updates to be sent to my IPad (its unnecessary as the ipad is dictating the values at that time). But when I'm not controlling the parameter from my Ipad, it can be updated externally.

so for this example Parameter 1 = updates from Ipad to Max and Parameter 2 = updates from Max to Ipad

That approach seems pretty reasonable. You don't need to hit the delay with the stop message, though. 

ha yes, thanks Chris. btw - I added an additional [change] just before the output - in prevents repetitions of the '0' being sent to close the gate it's a little cleaner
