Bucket: Echo to output?

Hello,

In the Max46 Reference Manual, there’s this mode described for the bucket object, which says:

“int Optional. A second non-zero argument sets the bucket object to ‘echo to output’ mode, whereby the number in the inlet is stored and set out the left outlet when it is received.”

So, instead of first storing it and then outputing it when the next input has came in, it outputs immediately.

However, this mode doesn’t seem to work for me. I’m using the 4.3.0.0 version of MaxMSP. Any ideas why? Or do you know another object to come to this function?

Many thanks and regards,

Jim

#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;

Even though I originally wrote Bucket, it’s been such a long time since Cycling74 took over maintenance of Bucket that I have no idea about when that feature went in.

That said, what you want is trivially simple with a “t b i” hitting the input, like this:

#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;
#P number 110 143 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P number 72 143 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P window linecount 1;
#P newex 72 98 27 196617 t b i;
#P number 72 78 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P newex 72 121 48 196617 bucket 2;
#P connect 0 0 3 0;
#P connect 0 1 4 0;
#P connect 2 0 0 0;
#P connect 2 1 0 0;
#P connect 1 0 2 0;
#P window clipboard copycount 5;
