bug in qlim + qmetro ?

January 18, 2007 | 4:07 pm

Hi, I noticed this the other week while working on something, maybe
I’m missing something, maybe not.

When driving a qlim with a [qmetro 2], it sends out a double bang.
[metro 2] does not produce this behavior.

Reproduction is straightforward : [qmetro 2] – [qlim 6000] – [print]
Example patch below.

I would expect this to send a single bang once every six seconds, but
instead it bangs 2x.

I’ve noticed this in Max 4.6.2 version under XP SP2 and OSX 10.4.8
(Intel), running on a MacbookPro 2Ghz.

Sample patch below :

#P window setfont "Sans Serif" 9.;
#P window linecount 1;
#P newex 328 254 62 196617 print metro;
#P newex 328 225 56 196617 qlim 6000;
#P toggle 328 138 15 0;
#P newex 328 176 46 196617 metro 2;
#P newex 123 256 67 196617 print qmetro;
#P newex 123 227 56 196617 qlim 6000;
#P toggle 123 140 15 0;
#P newex 123 178 51 196617 qmetro 2;
#P connect 2 0 3 0;
#P connect 6 0 7 0;
#P connect 5 0 4 0;
#P connect 4 0 6 0;
#P connect 1 0 0 0;
#P connect 0 0 2 0;
#P window clipboard copycount 8;

Am I crackers seeing this?

Thanks,

~s
