[bug?] loadbang and jit.noise

Please have a look at the patch below, save it and re-open it:

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

On my setup (Max 6.1.3 32 bit on MBPro OSX 10.6.8) when I open the patch, pwindows number one and three display only one color, while number two and four (the one with the delay, and the deferlow), show 7 random bars (as expected). Then, if double-click on the loadbangs, all jit.noise objects work as expected. Also if you copy the patch and click “New from clipboard” all works smoothly.

It seems like jit.noise’s random engine needs some time to initialize (1 ms seems to be enough). Can this be addressed as a bug? (The workaround, however, is to simply put a small delay or [deferlow] right after the loadbang).

The problem does not occur for me: Max 6.1.3 32-bit Mac OS X 10.7.5 MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz i7.

Hi, I’m experiencing the same problems here on both my machines.

Max 6.1.5 32-bit Mac OX 10.9 iMac 3.4Ghz i7
Max 6.1.5 32-bit Mac OX 10.8.5 Macbook Pro 2.6Ghz i7

Could this be registered as a bug?

Cheers

Tom
