Bug? Nan in float, but not in int

Have a look at this:

#P flonum 92 96 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P number 92 113 114 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P message 92 39 20 196617 13;
#P newex 92 56 111 196617 scale 20000. 20. 1. 0.;
#P newex 92 76 107 196617 expr pow($f1 \, 0.3);
#P comment 115 39 73 196617 < -- press this;
#P connect 3 0 2 0;
#P connect 2 0 1 0;
#P connect 1 0 5 0;
#P connect 5 0 4 0;

the flonum gives ‘nan’, but the numbox (-after- the flonum) gives a number.

Mac OS 10.4.8, Max 4.6.2

That’s not a bug, nor a feature. It’s just there’s no NaN
representation for integers:
