I’m running MAX/MSP demo on win XP SP2, and it seems to have a bug opening the plugconfig. More than one time out of two, when I first open a patch containing plugconfig, MAX would say such an object doesn’t exist.
The workaround I had was to open MAX, create a new patcher, create a plugconfig object and all was fine. Then I coul open my patch. Now it doesn’t work anymore… Will try again !
Sorry to come back on that one, but now, Max won’t ever recognize the plugconfig object, which is more than annoying ! Doens’t it occur to anyone ? Is it related to the demo ?
Can’t find a solution myself… What to do to build a good looking plugin out of a patch then ?
Ok, I think I figured out an thought of posting it in case anyone would come accross the same: I had defined a custon folder for Max to search in, in the preferences, cause it contained the images I used for a patch I created. But that folder contained a plugconfig.txt that I saved once. Removing the folder from preferences solved the problem. I didn’t verify the fault was the plugconfig.txt but I guess it is.

Please google the bug reporting guidelines, (I guess all C74 officials
are already pissed off to mention it again and again, but in this case
its so obvious that this sort of question will not lead to any results.)
Just to mention I don’t have problems with plugconfig, but who knows
what you mean with "won’t ever recognize" ? …
