greetings , i have a hard time to build a jitter app, the main issue being the shaders : once running my app i get the error : jit.gl.slab : "message and i get a green window because the uyvy2rgba shader converter is obviously not found or working :(

- i tried to add the required shaders into the app's package contents, ( pakage>contents>MacosX ), where i also put my abstractions and third party externals

- i also included a [standalone] object into the patch with "Search for Files Not in the Application's Collective" checked.

- i also tried to do a collective version of the patch and run into similar issues, i obviously do something wrong;

the patch is just a bunch of jit.qt.movies running through a few shaders , such as cc.uyvy2rgba.lite.jxs, cf.gaussian.2p.jxs, and Vade's v001.co2 collection , and mapped on jit.gl.videoplanes

some help with this would be greatly appreciated, as the jitter documentation seems a little outdated on this aspect

a little additional question : does the [filepath] object work in an standalone ?

I had luck with the app finding the shaders (and whatever media files  
or scripts you want to include) in package/contents/support

abstractions and 3rd party externals should be added automatically in  
the build if those patchers/externals are loaded in your main patch.  
if they are loaded later then explicitly include them in the build  
script so they become part of the app during the build.

i still cant get it to work as i want : each time i start my render i get the "? error: jit.gl.shader: can't find file " message .

[jit.gl.slab obama @file cc.uyvy2rgba.lite.jxs] does not;

would it mean i can not instantiate a shader unless i call it ?

shouldnt the shader file be found if it is part of the build script + putting the shaders back into package/contents/support after the build ?

i never had issues building apps before but it is the first time i try to include shaders :(

- in the build script : add the shaders + /jitter-shaders/shared/arb/ + /jitter-shaders/shared/cg/ + /jitter-shaders/shared/glsl/

- after the build , in package>contents>support i add the Cg.framework

what else can i do apart from adding a foder of shaders into the app's folder from which to load the required shaders ?

It should load the file either way (written into the slab as an  
atribute or loaded with the file message). Just be sure you include  
the file and the spelling is the same.

could anybody from C74 please resend the exact steps needed for a proper openGL based jitter app ? the doc is outdated and i dont think it is obvious for everybody ( at least not for me ) and max5 aint out yet :)

could my issue be a preferences matter ? it seems really bizarre or else *i* am bizarre ...

I have not followed the thread 100%, but I can tell you with certainty 

that I have experienced similar oddities when trying to build a 

sufficiently complex patch into an application.

I found that the order with which I included certain assets within the 

build script seemed to make a difference. It was beyond annoying.

--Build your application without including any shaders or frameworks in 

--Go to your application and select Show Package Contents.

aha. ok. thank you for checking this. I upgraded the jitter I had to 

the x2 release and also put it in my frameworks folder (according to 

the install directions) so this is possibly why I wasn't seeing this 

error. Good to know since people who don't have jitter and max 

installed obviously need this. Thanks! You might be able to include 

this in the build script and not have to copy it.

so to recap. shaders work in your app but only after you load them 

with the file message and not when written as an attribute?

if this is the case, it is not so hard to write a loader for all your 

slabs triggered by a loadbang before you start your render. so there 

of course it would be nice to not have to do this.
