hi there. i'm looking at cameras to use for realtime performance. it seems that an uncompressed firewire camera will work best. now, the Unibrain Fire-I is a lesser expensive solution, but i've read in the forum that basically the camera spits shit ....

 .... and i know the Industrial camera series by Unibrain is better, however i don't want to spend more than $200 USD. i've been searching around for other solutions - here is what i came up with:

maybe i'll just get the ps3 eye. would that bring latency issues?

and then there are videos on youtube that show you how to use any digital camera as a webcam... that seems like it would definitely bring latency problems. maybe. i dont know. does anyone know if a solution like this would work with jitter? maybe jit.qt.grab ?

alright well i think the unibrain fire-i is what im going to get. i watched some videos on youtube about it and read about it... i think that another usb device would be too much overhead or whatever. i'm still open to any suggestions thanks
