Yes you can. You'll just need to change your matrix from 8x1 to 16x1 and then remap the cell coordinates to fold over the middle cells using something like

coord = abs(scale(0, cell, -(dim-1), dim-1))

Thanks for your answer, Wesley, but I really can't find out how to remap the cell coordinates inside my codebox. I'm still trying to understand Gen, and most of the code matter is still mysterious to me...would you please point me to the right direction?

Here's a modification of your original to show how to use operators boxes to reproduce what was in the codebox.

In general, if you're new to gen, I would start patching with boxes instead of diving into codebox. It will help give you the gen mentality. Compare the codebox v. the visual version to get a sense of what I mean. The main thing is that the if() statement can be done with just a comparison since [>] returns 1 or 0 depending on true or false.
