can i set notein objects to respond to just one particular note?

ctlin allows us to have the object “listen” to just one controller. is this also possible for notein?

i want to set up some behaviours in my max patch where pushing one key on my midi controller start and stops one groove~, the next key over starts and stops another groove~ etc.

i can’t find it in the notein help, so i should probably be looking to process what comes out the notein object instead.

many thanks for any hints!

have a look at the select and maybe route objects. they will allow you to specify and isolate certain numbers/keys…

stripnote may be handy as well.

thanks everyone!

midiselect in particular did the trick.

this is how i ended up making start/stop buttons for my ohm64 midi controller (the bangs at the end are sent to “startloop” and “stop” messages connected to four groove~ objects in four bpatchers):
