Can't get BPM from waveform object – pls help…

October 4, 2008 | 7:11 pm

I’ve been trying to get the waveform object to output a bpm to a float object from its right outlet, but it won’t seem to do it. It will print an offset, then bpm to the Max window, but not to any kind of number box. If anyone has any idea, i would be eternally grateful. Thanks!

Maybe you could send the part of patch you have…

a patch is always helpful…
I don’t use waveform much so I don’t know what its outputs are, but by the sound of it you might want to look into route to separate the messages. I am assuming your max window prints something like this: offset 3456, bpm 120
if so [route offset bpm] will give you an outlet for the offset message, another one for the bpm and a third one for non matching messages.
hope this helps

Thank you so much! That worked.
