cc messages to note on (ctlin -> makenote)

Hi there, I am a newbie. It’s probably pretty simple.

I connected a controller with Max and want to generate midi notes by turning my knob. Now it works but I want to reduce the range and sensibility of the controller. It sends values from 0-127, but I want it to generate notes only between for example 64 and 76.

With the zmap object I can limit the range but it still sends a signal for every controller value. So it’s something like: 64 64 64 64 65 65 65 65 66 66 66 66
So it repeats EVERY controller value and converts it into a note on. What I want is that if I turn the whole range of my controller only 12 notes should be triggered.

Hope I explained it sufficiently.
Thanks a lot for every help

Hey, that’s exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot.

I have one more question. I will open up a new thread in order to give it a suiting title. If you have a minute would be great if you could have a quick look at it. Title: “Smoothening jumping data stream. how?”

Thanks again!
