Charge for patch debugging

December 8, 2012 | 7:15 pm

Hello, I have been asked to debug a patch, which contains multiple subpatches…
Can anyone guide me as to how much should i charge ?
The patch is really tangled.. and has a good deal of bugs. I would appreciate any information on how to set my price.
Than you in advance,
Nikolas

You should estimate of how long it will take to do the job and then decide how much your time is worth. You can only decide what the job should cost when you know whether you can do it and how long it will take. You need to do some work to get to this point. No one else can tell you the answer.

I would prefer to do this sort of job on the basis of payment for results, with a very clear definition of what results the customer wants.
