? check failed: typedmess: set: corrupt object

May 6, 2007 | 4:35 am

I just can’t seem to shake this error:

? check failed: typedmess: set: corrupt object

I don’t just get one – I get a huge stream of them – pages and pages of them.

Its intermittent and only happens about once every 5-20 loads. It seems to happen a little less when opening the patch in Max/MSP than when opening the same patch as a standalone application.

Its causing a weird error where my loop location in the waveforem~ object is no longer displaying correctly. Using a line connected to a table that then sets the loop points in the waveform object.

My patch is 7 years old and a bunch of crazy code so its not practical to isolate as when I do simplify things the problem goes away.

Any clues as to what exactly this error means so that I can track is down would be great. I’ve been using a liberal dosing of deferlows to try and make the patch open nicely and not attempt to do too much at load time.

Many thanks,

Stefan

Couldn’t be patches named as objects ?

Good idea, I double checked just in case and there are no patches with object names.

Thanks,

Stefan
