Checking my work…

September 27, 2008 | 8:26 am

Since I’m new at this, just testing myself a little here. Below is a basic piece of a patch to generate a semi-random number that is between 299-10,000. Just want to be sure that this (or something like it) is, in fact, what needs to be done to accomplish this.

Many thanks,
Brian

I would approach it more like this:

Depends what you want. "Semi-random" can mean a lot of things with different results. You’ve patched a random walk.

In the attachment you’ll find five different solutions. Three of them require the Litter Starter Pack (free, URI below). *All* of the examples are random and in the specified range. They do not behave identically.

Which behavior do you want?

(PS to Chris: you need some more coffee–your parameters are a nudge off. Think border values.)

I won’t argue about whether I need more coffee, I often do, but wasn’t
the requested range 299-10000?
